The department is responsible for teaching music.   This subject area has been expanded over the years to include the teaching and playing of a wide variety of instruments.  Students and pupils are able to exhibit their musical talents by performing with the school choir, gospel band, orchestra, atenteben (bamboo flute) ensemble and the marching band.   Their aim is to project music and train more students to become musicians.

Some students have been trained to use a computer software such as Finale to compose their own music.

On numerous occasions, the various musical groups have performed at august occasions to the delight of all. The Atenteben Ensemble participated in the African Union Day Bash in May 2005.
